Guam War Reparations
March 23rd, 2011 by ryan222The people of Guam have been fighting for War Reparations. It was about getting money because the people on Guam during the war suffered. The people of Guam have been requesting for war reparations for a while. The bill was sent to congress and it was shut down. This lady named Rita Cruz Santos, who was on Guam when there was a war, was told that Guam was going to get war reparations. It was later denied by senates in the United States. Honestly, i think thats messed up what they did. If people say something that they are going to do , then they should do it.
Here is a quote from Rita Santos Cruz:
”To be honest with you , then if that’s the case , then no buildup . Forget it . You know , the leaders of Guam better wake up , because we , the manamko , are not kidding them. ”
I thank our congresswoman and our senator for fighting for Guam War Reparations. They are Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo amd senator Frank Blas Jr. Madeleine Bordallo is a good congreesswoman because she is doing it for the people of Guam. I think Frank Blas Jr. is also a good senator because he is doing it for the people of Guam. People of Guam have been fighting for war reparations along time already.
Here is a quote from Frank Blas Jr.:
Obviously I’m disappointed , Greatly Disappointed in the decision to remove what was supposed to be a compromise .
It is really sad what happened to the people of Guam during World War Two. Some people lost their homes. People suffered from injuries. Also some people lost their family members. I think some people lost everything. I would be scared if this happened to me. I wouldn’t want this to happen though. The people of Guam should get money because of their sufferings. I know if the senates suffered they would want money too. The people of Guam are just asking for money because they have suffered enough. Im talking about the people who were on Guam during the war. Guam deserves better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How War Reparations Relates to the Topic
March 22nd, 2011 by ryan222Me and Reuben’s topic for National History Day is Guam War Reparations. I worked hard just to get this topic. I wanted to this topic because i knew somethings about it. Our website will show what Guam War Reparations was about. It would also show some people who are actually fighting for the war reparations. We would also tell you who were the people that were in charge of this bill. Guam and the United States are debating whether they should give the money to Guam or not. I think this is how it is related to the topic for National History Day. The US should at least give the people that were in the war that suffered. It is really sad what happened.
I want to learn what kind of sufferings did these people experienced in World War Two. I know that this would be really sad to know about. I would also want to know all the different dates that Guam fought for war reparations. I would also want to know what Guam did with the money when the US give it to them. The US give money to Guam back then. The US should of gave it directly to the people who suffered in the war. If they did this long time ago there wouldn’t be people fighting for money. Basically, i would want to know everything about Guam War Reparations.
Guam History Day Project
March 18th, 2011 by ryan222First thing i did was i sign up at nhd.weebly.com. Then i chose a theme. After a few days i gathered information. Then i put pages on my website. Some pages were home, thesis statement, historical perspective, gallery, and bibliography. I put information into each page. I also had to choose layouts for the page. I also had to find pictures about Guam War Reparations. I put these pictures in my gallery. I put all my sources in my bibliography.
I think the biggest challenge for me was the bibliography. I had to put it in a certain format. I also had to have them annotated. Then put it in alphabetical order. Another challenge was gathering information. When i went to google, it did not give much information about Guam War Reparations. That kind of made me mad. If i really wanted to find information i would have to really do research. Overall i think this whole project was one of my biggest challenge i have ever had.
I really enjoyed going on a field trip to MARC. We had to go and find information on our topic. It was fun. I would of enjoyed going to MARC after school but i never went. I enjoyed getting pictures for my website because it was kind of easy. I enjoyed working with a partner on this website although we did not do much. I would like to do this again but this time i would do more research and try to finish before the deadline.
Qualities of a Good Blogger
January 17th, 2011 by ryan222One quality is waking up early. You could accomplish goals in the morning and use the rest of the day to finish up work. You would have more time. You wouldn’t have to rush your work. Being organized is another quality. Keeping your files in order would make it much easier for you to find it when you need it. You don’t have to be perfect but it would save you time. Another quality of a good blogger is being healthy. Being healthy would make you feel great. Feeling great, you probably accomplish more goals.
Another quality is making a lot of post. People would read it and then show other people and then you would be noticed for it. Leo Babauta became famous like that. Don’t post like your personal information because people would really know you inside and out. You know what i mean. Think twice about the things you put on the internet. Simplifying your life is one of the best qualities to becoming a good blogger. If you are a busy person then i think you wouldn’t want to be a blogger. Simplifying your life will give you more time to finish your work. If you are into sports you could probably write about it. Some people are are really interested about your post. One of the most important quality of a good blogger is to use a grammar that people would understand. If you were to use another grammar they wouldn’t really care to read it. Try not to use big words because they would be confused. The bottom line is to make it clear. Hopefully, you have learned about qualities of a good blogger from this post. Maybe you could become a good blogger some day.Shoot shoot!!!
Project
January 13th, 2011 by ryan222I really enjoyed doing this first quarter project. I had to do a survey. I asked people three questions. I got know what they preferred to do. It was fun going around school asking my classmates to fill out this survey. It was interesting when i did it on Googledocs. I got to choose a theme. There was many but i just choose a simple one. There are a lot of things you can do to make it look nice.Another thing that was cool was that it was posted online. A lot of people can see it. If a teacher saw this survey and saw that most students voted for one event , it might actually happen. That would be awesome.
I had some difficulties doing this project. One was when i had to survey fifty people. It took me about three days to finish it. One thing i hated was that some people didn’t want to answer it. I guess they thought it would go against them. Another difficulty was using Googledocs. I wasn’t really sure if i was doing it correct. It took me about two days just to finish posting the survey. I had to write the questions then put the answers. I would like to do this survey again. It took time but it was fun.
Should Guam re-evaluate its stance on commonwealth and try once more to change its status from territory to commonwealth? Why or why not?
January 12th, 2011 by ryan222Yes Guam should re evaluate its stance on commonwealth and try once more to change its status from territory to commonwealth. People of Guam had brought it up before so why not continue to make Guam a commonwealth. As of today we follow the laws of the United States. Being a commonwealth we would probably have our own laws. That would be really awesome. I think some people would be more happier. Probably it wasn’t passed because not enough people put all their effort. Probably if 95 percent of the people of Guam vote for it , it will pass. Just because the commonwealth act was put aside does not mean we shouldn’t try. WE GOT THIS GUAM. Lets bring back the commonwealth act.
I think its a good idea to change Guam’s status from territory to commonwealth. I think the U.S. should let us try being a commonwealth at least for a year. Should anything happen then thats the reason why they didn’t pass it. Guam’s commonwealth bill was put aside. I think they probably threw it away thats why they cant find it. Probably they are waiting for someone to bring it up again. The people of Guam mostly voted for commonwealth. I don’t understand if it was majority how come nothing happen. Ai adai these people. I think we need new leaders that would step up to the plate. PEOPLE OF GUAM LETS TRY AGAIN!

The Importance of Creative Commons
October 29th, 2010 by ryan222Creative commons is a web application that helps you license your work freely. It is importance because you could use their information as long as you give them credit. It was for certain uses, on certain conditions; or dedicate your works to public domain. It is also easier to find data on this web. Creative commons also works to minimize legal, technical, and social barriers to sharing and reuse of educational material.

Comparing and Contrasting Traditional Newspapers and Online Newspapers
September 8th, 2010 by ryan222One comparison is that they’re both news. Traditional newspapers and online newspapers both update each day. Another comparison is that they both inform people about what is going on. Last , they’re both types of advertisements.
One difference is that online is more expensive. Online can show people all over the world. Newspaper is only on island. Newspapers have other advertisements that online news does not have. You could bring newspapers almost everywhere. Online news you would have to be at certain places. On online news you would have to wait for it to load versus a newspaper you could just flip the page.
I would prefer a newspaper because it is easier to use. On online you would have to go to links to see other news. I also prefer newspaper because I wouldn’t have to worry about it dying out. A newspaper is also easier to hold. One main reason why I prefer newspaper is because i think it’s cheaper.
